Desert BBQ. Small, cozy, fun, really good food. Ask the guy doing the BBQ out front what's good - He'll tell ya!

Splash Cafe in Pismo Beach!
Splash Cafe in Pismo Beach!

This is a little whole in the wall spot that has won every Clam Chowder Award in the area that I could see. Service is fast and very casual. Order, leave your name & they hollar it out and then deliver it. It's a definite MUST GO TO spot. Pay for parking sux but we were able to park our bikes right out front(weekday) for $1 / hour. Put the parking tag on your "dashboard"! Ha right. We we in & out within 45 min eating and chatting casually.

Stewart's Point Store is OPEN!
7 Attachment(s) Stewart's Point Store is OPEN!

Went for a short ride yesterday. Different post will talk about that. The big news to No. Cal. riders is that Stewart's Point Store is OPEN. After a 3+ year battle with the County to rehab a local landmark the war is over and the store is open. As I pulled up the door was open and there were cars in the lot. This store is at the Western end of Stewart's Point - Skaggs Springs Rd. I mean the ocean is right there. I didn't eat as I didn't know the store was open. Next time. Forget the... Read more

Knife and fork Cafe, downtown Holister

The wife and I stopped at the Knife and Fork Cafe in downtown Holister on the way to Pinnacles south of Holister. Great little place to eat, burgers were excellent and they were the BEST onion rings I have ever had.

11 Attachment(s) Wildwood Store on Hwy. 36 Northern Cal.

Andrew posted this a couple of days ago in the introductions section. I added to it. "Hello this is Andrew Boehm from the Wildwood Store and Cafe in Wildwood, California. I bought the store in 2007 and things are going pretty good. Just wanted to let the motorcyclists know that all motorcycles are welcome here. We have super unleaded and a full cafe. You can also call any time for road conditions on the highway. The store number is (530) 628-5323. I pretty much commute the... Read more

Wool Growers Inn - Los Banos - Great Basque
2 Attachment(s) Wool Growers Inn - Los Banos - Great Basque

Family style and tons of food--don't fill up on the bread, beans, soup, green salad, potato salad, lamb stew (on Sunday they have chicken and rice instead of the lamb stew) french fries, and red wine before your entree arrives! Entree choices are usually pork chops, leg of lamb, fish, chicken, ny steak, tri-tip and sometimes lamb shanks. Even the biggest eaters have a "doggie bag". The dining room is behind the bar. You walk through a hallway to a blank door which opens into... Read more

HENRY'S FAMOUS BARBEQUE Monterey CA
2 Attachment(s) Feature HENRY'S FAMOUS BARBEQUE Monterey CA

Sitting for hours on end in the SCRAMP First Aid trailer tends to drive conversation away from racing and tourism and eventually politics and toward food, a commodity Monterey has an abundance of in one form or another. I tend to gravitate toward venues with little or no chain affilliation and strong local support. This last race Audrey and I were bestowed a tastey nugget in the form of Henry's Famous Barbeque. Monica, mentioned his project, knowing my abhorrance of places with names... Read more

NorCal Hwy 1 - Roadhouse Cafe, Elk, CA
7 Attachment(s) NorCal Hwy 1 - Roadhouse Cafe, Elk, CA

The Roadhouse Cafe was one particular place that we enjoyed for lunch on one of our NorCal Weekend Tours. Found in Elk, CA - a tiny little coastal town just north of the Point Arena Lighthouse - the cafe is extremly small with only a couple tables inside, and a small outdoor area. It actually closed at 3pm on Friday, but check ahead. The oddest thing about the place, is it resides in an old quonset hut auto mechanics shop- like something out of the 50's. Right beside where we... Read more

Morning Thunder, Quincy CA
Morning Thunder, Quincy CA

Great breakfast cafe. After you ride Oroville Quincy Highway or LaPorte Road, you will be ready to fill up! Very good dark coffee that will have your motor running in no time. Good menu with some variations on the traditional stuff that are really worth trying. :clap :eat :clap Super attentive pleasant staff. :love :love :love This place would be jammed 24hrs a day if it was in Sac or SF. To get there: It's in downtown Quincy on the WEST bound one-way street,... Read more
