Monte Rio - Cafe Les Jumelles
Most excellent totally home cooked foods. Locals eat there. Have only eaten breakfast but in talking to locals lunch and dinner is excellent too.
Potato patties instead of hashbrowns or fries - different and mouthwatering.
Cafe closes at 9m SHARP! I found out the hard way = 3 minutes late!
Found out they relocated this year. Used to be smack downtown M. Rio but now a couple miles east of Guerneyville on Hwy 116.

Mad River Burger Bar HWY 36
HWY 36 and Mad River? Located in the heart of HWY 36. To the east South Fork summit..and to the west?..the single lane section of 36 and Grizzly Creek Redwoods.
What a perfect spot for an excellent Hamburger...picnic tables and out door seating. Great place. Don't be in a hurry..the gals get busy cooking burgers.
Homemade shakes, garlic fries.Cajun fries,etc..even breakfast too!
Huge menu for a place that cooks from an old trailer...check it out!

Morning Thunder, Quincy CA
Great breakfast cafe. After you ride Oroville Quincy Highway or LaPorte Road, you will be ready to fill up!
Very good dark coffee that will have your motor running in no time. Good menu with some variations on the traditional stuff that are really worth trying. :clap :eat :clap
Super attentive pleasant staff. :love :love :love
This place would be jammed 24hrs a day if it was in Sac or SF.
To get there: It's in downtown Quincy on the WEST bound one-way street,...

My Favorite Mexican food in Santa Cruz
I’ve lived in Santa Cruz pretty much my whole life & one place that has never let me down is Tortilla Flats in the Soquel Village. They have unique Spanish / Mexican recipes & great service. I think you can find them online at www.tortillaflatsdining.com or definitely in the yellow pages.

Mo's - Pismo Beach
Mrs. Bassman and I celebrated 22 years of marriage by dumping the kids with Grandma and escaping the heat to Pismo Beach. "I wonder where we should eat?", I pondered as we arrived. Looking out our hotel room window, I found my answer. It was an awesome decision.

Markleville CA "The Deli"
In Markleeville CA "The Deli" on the main drag a bit northeast and across the street of a certain unnamed sit down joint that was both pricy and MC unfriendly The well behaved, but leather clad, seniors I was with were treated to a 25 min wait before there waitress even bothered to get them water ..
The Deli, in starling contrast, was the exact opposite with quick friendly service and tasty reasonably priced food. I had there variation of a Rubin Sandwich. The corned beef was...

Monticello Deli & Catering in Napa, CA
We did a quick run out 128 to Monticello Rd. and dropped in on the back side of Napa.
There's a little deli on Monticello Rd. just after you come out of the twisty stuff (ok, maybe a mile down the road and past a stoplight), called Monticello Deli & Catering. 1810 Monticello Rd., between Vichy and Hedgeside.
Pretty good sandwiches, a couple of cuties working the counter, and a nice relaxed atmosphere (although "The View" was on TV...they nicely offered to switch to...

Mariposa Frosty RIP
Last trip through Mariposa I looked over to see the Frosty and it was gone! OMG!!! :bigwow It was a pile of rubble! How could they?! It was an icon of Mariposa. I've been stopping there for over 20 years, mostly after dirt riding at Jersydale and Miami Creek. It was a great place to eat and have some fun before heading down the hill, how sad. :nah
