How to stop thieves - Installing a ground anchor
I’ve just moved to a new home near Bristol, England and decided to install a built-in ground anchor.
I chose the highly recommended Y-max 90.
It’s big enough to take my 19mm heavy duty, uncroppable Almax Immobiliser IV chain hooked onto an anti-pinch pin.
I’ve never drilled into or mixed concrete before so this was new territory.
Still, as they say on Top Gear: “How hard can it be?” http://www.easyfreesmileys.com/smileys/thinking-020.gif

DIY piston rings
If you can't find piston rings for your Spagthorpe Whippet or other obscure machine, here's a link from the XS650 site on how to make your own:-

Tool canister from SS toilet plunger holder
I've often thought that a cylinder opposite my bike's muffler would make a great place for a cargo or tool holder.
Inspired by a portion of this other Pashnit thread, here's my execution of that idea.

**Updated Photos**How To Install Cigarette Lighter Type Power Outlets
Just thought I'd post a "how to" since I didn't see one online anywhere for this simple mod. Aimed at "idiots" like me that need pictures to understand what anybody is talking about...so apologies in advance for the slow load time...
If you've got a basic garden variety sportbike like me, then you may have noticed that they lack auxiliary power outlets like some fancy touring bikes have. And if you're like me, you occasionally forget to charge your iPod or cellphone...

Cycra Handguards - Custom LED Turn Signal Install
On my last bike (XRR) I installed a Trail Tech 8” race light and started trying to figure out the best place to re-locate the front turn signals to. I couldn’t find a place where they wouldn’t look like crap so I ended up just leaving the front turn signals off completely until I could come up with a better solution, which brings us to now.
A friend ordered a set of Zeta hand guards with built in LED turn signals for his WR250R, I really liked the built in blinkers on the Zeta’s…… but...

Air Compressor Add On
It was supposed to rain today so I scheduled the day for chores here at the house and the installation of some wiring for an air compressor I've been meaning to modify for use on the STeed. While I didn't get out for a ride on this beautiful fall day, I did get the air compressor done.
Check it out HERE.
It's supposed to be nice again tomorrow.............................. :riding
C'ya!

Making a Hitch for a Motorcycle
One of the readers of my blog asked how I made the hitch for the Silverwing. So I fired him off a couple of photos and a drawing of my home made hitch.
This one is made for the Silverwing but I thought it could be the basis for any hitch on any motorcycle.
If you are inclined to make a hitch for your bike this may give you a starting point and shows how I made mine.

Who needs a tire machine? Change your own!
Stole this link from another moto forum. Dunno if I'm ambitious enough to do this, but the vid makes it look pretty straight-forward. (Although I'm not sure whether I'd do this while listening to a Requiem... hmmm.)

simple handlebar switch
I used a 3 amp switch from radio shack, a small piece of 5/16 I.D tube and a zip tie, it could be tied to the grip, handlebar or anywhere on the bike for accessories.
you could even mount two switches for two accessories one above and one below.

Overheat fix (cheap) for Goldwing
The 2005 or earlier Goldwings have a tendancy to overheat at low speeds (between 16 - 24 mph). I found out about it in rush hour traffic in Atlanta. Some say it is because the air flow and radiator fans fight each other, but here's what I did and it seems to work fine.
Cheap Fix - nothing fancy here.
