A changed SV
Ok for most of the SV owners this was probably the first change that ya did to your scoot. I have been thinking about it for a while and when the bracket became a sale item I grabbed it up. The wife still wasn't happy about the $49 bucks but what the heck – I said that it was on sale and the norm price was $79 or more – she still wasn’t impressed and I thought she would understand the word SALE
Oh well – here’s the obligatory before pics: :whistle

Thottlemeister with black / milled finish Install Pics
I just added the new black/milled finish style thottle meister bar ends to my bike. If you ever do this mod be sure to add a fishing line down your bar end to help keep the bar end attached to the motocycle if it ever works itself loose. It would be a shame to pay $165 for a set and loose one on the side of the road.

Make your own heated gear, less than $100
For those of you that like to tinker, here's some info on making your own heated gear.
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113134
I made my own for a couple of reasons.
1. I'm cheap and like to tinker.
2. I'm picky and needed something thinner than the current gear on the market so it would fit under my leathers and race gloves.

Cortech tankbag tweaks for a sportbike
Hi everybody
Awhile back I bought a tankbag for my 600rr, a Cortech, in blue nylon. The one I bought is considered "universal", but of course, that aint always so! I didn't know of a specific tankbag for my bike, and a magnetic one won't work on a plastic tank cover, of course, so here's what I did to make it work:
25483
The rear mounting strap's buckle, as supplied, wouldn't fit between the frame crossmember and the fuel tank, so I cut the strap short and added a rivet-on...

GL1800 YB Speedo Correction Installation
Gold Wing 1800's are notorious for speedometers that run about 5% high. As I like to have an accurate speedometer, I chose to install a Yellow Box (www.blackrobotics.com) speedometer correction unit WITHOUT cutting and splicing into the wiring harness.
My solution was to build my own wiring harness that I inserted in between a factory wiring harness connector located behind the right air vent. Below are the steps I took to install it:
I removed the right side trim strip, the...

Added 3" K&N air filter to my Golf Cart
Picked up a batch of K&N clone air filters with 3" inch inlets at the local swap meet this weekend.
Picked up a 2" to 3" rubber adapter at home depot
removed air box completely from cart.
Put Cone filter in same place as air box.
Used 2 plastic ties to hold air filter to old bracket.

small voltage regulators for the bike
I've been using some small intergrated circuits ( that a friend turned me onto ) that will reduce and regulate the voltage , no spikes , or sudden bursts of high voltage. These are very cheap and fairly easy to use , they are probably best used in-line with the power wire , or make a adapter.... they come in several different voltages , like 5,6,7,9,12. I use them for my camcorder and bullet camera.
I included some pic to show how I used them, there's three connectors , the left is +in...

AudioVox Cruise Control Installation - pics, docs
Got into a conversation the other day about installing a Cruise Control on the bike. Paul in turn sent me all these pics. There are word docs here that you can also look at that are highly detailed. You'll need MS Word to view the word docs though. While this is for the Yamaha FJR1300 - much of it is universal.
:bike Installation instructions for AudioVox Cruise Control - MS Word - 894K

Honda ST1100 Video Camera Mount - How to
(Posted by Halfwing)
Here's the stuff I cobbled together for my camera mount.
I ordered a DASH SHELF from SPORT TOURING ACCESSORIES in North Carolina. I wanted this to mount the camera and a radar detector. I've since added the switch for my grip warmers so I'm getting my use out of it.
I ordered a TRIPOD MOUNT from B & H PHOTO to attach the camera to the camera mount. I've also purchased a few filters for my camera from them. They're a great place to ask questions and...

Priority Lites Module & Hyper Lites - Add on LED Brake lights
Some more info on some great sport touring mods I've done to make the bike more visible...
Priority Lites Module
I finally gave in and bought this the other day. This module turns your existing turn signals into running lights. Why all motorcycles don't come standard with this feature, we'll never know. But a module does exist to fix this.
Plus they act as brake lights when you hit the brakes, the modules allows the turn signals to go solid as long as the brakes are...
