Sounds like you need to be suing the other driver for the difference in the form of pain, suffering, trauma, loss of life style, inconvenience, time off work, recovery, disposal of old bike and all round "you shouldn't have crashed into me you ?£%$". I suggest NOT accepting the insurance company's first offer as it's exactly that - a FIRST offer.

Hi STEPHEN,quick update from the insurance co.the bike is not worth salvaging.apparently it will cost around R54000 to repair,so they will pay me out R46000.the bike was insured for R60000.dont you just love these insurance companies.you pay premium for replacement value, and they pay you trade value.

HI STEPHEN,how did your advanced course go? i certainly wish some of the riders in this country would do the gerotek intermediate course.might learn to ride defencively instead of like irresponsable idiots.i watched one of these guys on the hway today.traffic was moving along at about 40kmh due to road works,he was whitelining through the traffic at about 80kmh.to me thats just plain reckless.
