The Alkali Flies. They should have filmed the movie here.

There were millions of them. Didn't expect all the flies. The ground is black. That's the flies!

Don't have a fast enough lens for this, but will repost this from old thread here. Mike Maloney shot this. Get a sense of the motion- clouds of these flies.

You can walk along the shore & just a buzz of motion and sound as the flies fly up, than land & go right back down. Someone mentioned if this were Northern Wisconsin we'd have to wear bee keeper suits or get eaten alive by these things! :funny
