After zipping over Tioga Pass, we had some daylight left, so I took the riders on over to Mono Lake.
Attachment 81203 Attachment 81204 Two versions of the same photo, have a favorite? Has a lot to do with the height of the camera off the ground. Changes the way the photo feels. Attachment 81210 And can't come here without mentioning the millions of flys along the shore of the lake. Attachment 81229 How are the tufa towers formed? Glad you asked. Attachment 81230 Mono Lake in the setting sun. The time of day we arrived offered up some prime moments to capture some stunning photographs... Attachment 81211 And the low sun gives you that super-yellow color. Very cool. Attachment 81212 |

Interesting example of shooting the same thing, but varying your photos just a bit. These are all different photographs actually. The change could be something simple. A step forward or backwards, a different zoom level to your lens. Try different things. Never know what you'll get. In these, the sun is just setting behind the horizon.
Attachment 81217 Attachment 81218 Portrait Attachment 81219 And portrait pano. The water of course was like glass. When you touch it though, it's slippery, like soapy water due to the super-high salinity content. Attachment 81220 Plus I was originally going to title this tour like this. But thought I should opt for something with a little more energy. Still is pretty though. Attachment 81221 |

As the sun sets, the colors change. Deep yellows and brilliant oranges. Attachment 81223 Attachment 81224 |
