Our story begins with the 10th Pashnit Tour of the Season. Our last ride to close out seven seasons of guided tours around the state of California.

Gave me a bit of time to reflect on all the riders through the years, the bikes, the roads and the 10,000 miles a year I spend on the road.

Big group of us time time around... But only 3 new riders. Rest are returning riders on their 3rd, 4th, even 7th or 8th tour (we lose track).

George I think is our eldest rider so far at 74 yrs old on his Suzuki VX800. Perfect bike for the roads we'd be headed for.

Steve coming on for his 2nd tour of the season, this time on a BMW K1300S from WeRentMotorcycles.com. He's a plastic surgeon from Mobile, Alabama. We don't have roads like this in Alabama he kept saying. :p He signed up for his 3rd tour next season before the ride was even over. :rad

Dave hails from Florida, summers in CA, but showed up on a 3-week old Triumph Tiger. Nice ride. And check out the seat - just got that from Corbin.

Brothers Jim & Phil. Jim won the free raffle for a tour & came earlier this year with brother Phil in tow. He even won the tour tour raffle twice!

We then banned Jim from entering any more raffles. :nod Seemed the honorable thing to do to keep fairness in the universe. He dutifully agreed he would not enter any more raffles.

But next free tour raffle we held- brother Phil won fair and square. What are ya gonna do. :p

Tom & Jane flew out from New Jersey. He's never ridden in the Motorcycle Wonderland of California so this was a treat! Tom has a bunch of Ducati's and owns a software company. Although he knows not a lot about software. That made for some interesting conversation.

We learn that just up the road is a beached Blue Whale - the largest living creature on earth that wanders the seas.

Steve insists we can't miss this. Not something you see everyday, but it's a Pashnit Tour & you never know what you're gonna get. :wink

Ever been walking down the beach and smelled a dead fish?

Now multiply that to whale size smell. :funny Yes, the lovely aroma of rotting flesh was in the air.

Junks of it were missing as some marine biologist came & cut away some large samples. How'd you like to have that job. Uh, can you hand me the knife please? Maybe machete would be better.

Mark was also a white Triumph Tiger at the stock height on this ride. Quite the difference.
