Thanks again! Can you kindly comment on the Ebbetts surface condition in the narrow section where it appears bumpy? How bumpy is it and for how long?

Thanks! I know Sonora Pass (108) and Monitor (89), both excellent mountain passes, and I have never driven Ebbetts.

It's a couple of miles of broken patches. You just have to watch it. The worst lane is West-toEast lane. The West-bound lane is not so bad.

I think you are right. West to East unfolds the twisties into the very fast ribbo-like roller-coaster end - very Ring-like. :)

Stick to NV - far better roads. Try Kingsbury Grade from CA 395 to South Lake Tahoe and NV 431 from Incline Village to 395 into Reno. Great roads! And of course NV50 and NV28 on the eastern shore of...

CA140 is fine (with up to 15 minute wait on the one-lane bridge). Glacier Point is open. Get up early, be on the road by 7AM from Mariposa, and it's a breeze.
