Where is the meeting place? What time? I take it you mean Trimmer Springs or Tollhouse area? I might be up for this, I will know by Friday if I can make it.

Yes, Trimmer Springs is the area.

Meeting place and time to be established, but probably 7:30 am at Fig Garden Starbucks.

We will probably not ride the higher elevations due to the snow

Probably won't make this ride due to the snow up here in the mountains, my driveway being the most dangerous obstacle to try and pass. I will try and catch you guys on your next ride.

    Hey Steve,

I was talking to a good friend on the phone last night and found out we have a connection. My buddy Scott Harvey is your friend Rob's brother. Scott and I have been buds since going to school at Cal Poly. I hope we all get together for a ride sometime soon. This Sunday is out for me though. (Mom is coming for a visit)

BTW.... nice pics jumping the GS! How big of a crater did you leave? I also have a yellow 12GS and it sees dirt quite often.

    Chat with ya soon

Hey nice bike. I have heard about you as well, nice hearing from you. Would you be willing to lead the next ride around some trails? We are always looking for new places to ride and different riders. We expect the dsrider club to grow with all the great places to ride in Central California. Get some buddies together and lets get it on!

Re: Central Valley Dual sport ride

I'd be happy to lead some rides. I have some really fun loops up in the Siearras above Coulterville. We can actually enter Yosemite Park on legal dirt roads if we wanted. We could meet in Mariposa and head up Bull Creek Rd to lots of great dirt routes near Greely Hill.

I'd also really like to do some more exploring down closer to King Canyon too. Years ago I took the dirt road that leaves Pine Flat Reservoir (Trimmer Springs) and pops out somewhere near Wishon resevoir. I know there is a ton more to explore in that neck of the woods. Have you ever been on Beasroe/Minnarets Rd? Don Hopkirk (who posted above) showed me this rd last Summer and there are lots of dirt offshoots up there too. Beasore can be found on a AAA map up abouve the Bass Lake area.

I can't wait for the snow to melt so we can access the higher elevations! Mendocino Nat Forest can be great this time of year but even then they get enough snow that most passes are closed.

I have also been bugging Scott to get up here since he doesn't have a normal work week. My weekends are Sunday/Monday. Not sure if you knew, but I am the Parts Manager at Cycle Specialties BMW in Modesto.

Be sure to shoot me a line if you ever need anything. I have another post in the vendor section for 10% discount for Pashnit members. shop phone is 209-524-2955.

Anyway, I will be temporarily down in couple weeks due to a wrist surgery I am having. I should be back in the saddle before the end of March though!

I can't wait to ride with some new guys!

    See Ya
