    New Gear

I am a newer rider and I have been wearing an older jacket and gloves that a friend gave me when I stared. I would like to get my own set that fits me a bit better and has some features that I like. I would prefer leather because from what I had heard it was still the most protective shell, is this still true? I would like something that has good protection (and the jacket needs a collar) but is not covered in cheesy graphics. What about brands, there are huge price ranges…I am lost! I like the Daisene stuff but are you just paying for the name? I am looking for jacket/gloves/pants...

    Thanks for the help!

Edit: Yea I forgot about searching until after I posted it...yea, yea, I know. I will look around some more but if someone still wants to share some words of wisdom I am all ears

    Hi Vince,
I'd encourage you to use the search function on the forums; there is a lot of collective wisdom there waiting to be discovered.
There is even an 'Advanced Search' feature, which will let you search based on various criteria.

(Leather does seem to be popular and probably for good reason, though materials such as Kevlar advertised by Motoport have also started gaining traction. You'll find a number of useful discussions on the subject if you search the forums. Also, another recent thread.)

Actually I am going to try and stay away from them so that I don't have to pay the 8.25% sales tax.

The more I look the more I am starting to like the options offered by Tour Master, is there any reason that I should not get something from them?
