Well it didn't take long to get branded a spammer. So here a little more info on me.A vid of me on my R1 this summer being chased by my buddies BusaI don't normally post but I keep getting emails because no posts.I have a 03 Aprilia Haga RSVR that spends most of its time in the shop,A 00 Indian Chief that has been parked since 01 thought a cruiser would be fun and didn't care for it and a 02 BMW R1150GS That I ride year round.I wrecked the R1 this summer being a dumb azz. I of all the forums on the web I get more use out of pashnit. Keep up the good work.

I love it when they pull away in the corners with no DY crossovers...

Welcome, Bob. I actually deleted my post suggesting your original might be spam almost as soon as I posted it. (I noticed your "join date" was '06 sometime... So that ruled out spam...)

Cool bike. I'd like one too! (But can't replace my 650gs with it... If anything, I'd like something more dirt-ready. That bike's too pretty to take in the dirt!)

Like many I got caught up in the ride. Doing things we all Know were not supposed to do on the street. On this day it was early spring with a few friends on a quick ride up to the lake.I was the second one back in the pack riding a easy pace.We were about 2 miles from the lake when the leader opened it up on his new 07 R1.By the time I noticed he had opened it up he was about 100 yards ahead of me.After taking a few 25 mph corners at about 75 we hit a strait.Wanting to know how my 05 R1 measured up to the 07 R1 we both put it to the pin.I was in third pulling hard to 130 mph when the bike broke traction and the re hooked sending me into a flip. The bike continued on ripping a road sign out of the ground and then hitting a tree about six feet of the ground.I continued flipping and spinning another 200 yards before sliding up into the tree line.I ended up with two broken hands a broken left wrist a broken left ankle two broken feet a tree branch threw my left leg just below the knee and alot of missing skin. Now being the genius I am and having more riding gear than my closet could ever hold can anyone tell me why I was wearing blue jeans and sneakers? Thats right I was to LAZY to put all my gear on.If I had put my gear on the damage would have been limited to a broken wrist and hands.I would have missed the whole wheel chair, crutches, plastic surgery, the screws in my ankle. I guess what it all comes down to is ride your own ride and ride smart.Click on pic for more wreck pic's

Wow, thank you for sharing. I know it is always a bit embarrasing when we do dumb moves and get nailed, however, by telling your story you can sometimes help others from getting into the same situation. I am a Paramedic for 27 years and have seen a lot. I wish I could take some of the people I have picked up and bring them into a classroom full of new riders.
Thank you again for sharing and I hope you will heal completely!
