    Coffee run...

Happy New Year! I was thinking about going for a not super early coffee run up to Ojai and/or Carp. I have to be back kinda early and don't want to do a big ride...just tootle out for a coffee or brunch and a few miles. Any takers?

It was too windy and cold. So I hiked instead, and caught a slight cold. Good times. Happy New Years freaks!

It wasn't snowy, but I do recall seeing what appeared to be white slippery stuff on the the puddles next to the road. It felt almost like that last time you and I rode though on the way to Monterey. Oddly...I almost went hiking instead of riding. Boy did I make the right choice this day.

It was awfully cold, but sooo pretty out. Hard to believe it was SoCal. The leaves all golden and the meadows all green, horses running and playing with steam coming out of their nostrils. The whole scene was amazing, you should've seen it.

After coffee, we stumbled across a couple of gents with a nice little museum or 2, an amazing actor, and about 3 hours of priceless tales of racing history. The stuff they had...really, you should've seen it.

As we left, a little late...but worth it, it was even colder riding home. Ten minutes into it...the hands and feets was numb. But the scenery, now with golden sunset light...WOW! The valley took on a totally different look that was, well, to much to describe. Again, you should've seen it...amazing!!!

Hey Ricky...I went up the 33 on Thursday myself, after the usual Malibu stuff; didn't see your post until just now. D'oh! Good way to start the year though, huh?

Pending good weather this weekend as I'm a cold sissy I'll be toodling around locally on Sunday if anyone is out. Saturday, well, I'm learning how to shoot a gun. Be warned.
