Eats along the PCH (Santa Monica to Malibu)

Just thought I'd contribute since I didn't see these up here. Some of my favorite eats when I used to live in Santa Monica and rode the canyons daily...These are just a few that I've been to (and have gone back to)...

Malibu Seafood - just north of Malibu Canyon Road (Pepperdine); the perfect lunch spot after your Mulholland Raceway jaunts...GREAT food!! (I'm jonesin' for an Ahi Tuna Burger!)

Nobu Malibu - if you're a sushi connoisseur, there's hardly a place better in Los Angeles...pricey but hey, maybe you'll see a celebrity (I sat at the table next to the Olsen twins on their 18th birthdays)
    http://losangeles.citysearch.com/pro...bu_malibu.html

Reel Inn - pretty good, kinda expensive, but conveniently close to Santa Monica (near Topanga Canyon). The link on Citysearch says there's another location at the 3rd Street Promenade. They CLOSED that location months ago...

Duke's - kick ass Sunday brunch, AWESOME views, right across from Las Flores Canyon Rd (a fun, short, uphill twisty that leads to the Piuma-Schueren-Stunt loop that is off of Mulholland)

others you may wanna try include...

    Moonshadows - great views

Gladstone's - food is just ok, convenient to Santa Monica, at intersection of Sunset Blvd. and PCH

Patrick's Roadhouse - never been there, heard it was cool

etc., etc....spend some time on Citysearch site to find exactly what you're looking for.

Paradise Cove Beach Cafe is a good stop for breakfast. Then after a morning in the Malibu Alps, Neptunes Net makes for a nice lunch stop. Unless of course you get detoured to the Crest, or points north!

A couple of spots I know about is the Rock Store which is a huge bike hangout and they serve a pretty good breakfast and just north of there is a rundown old building that is called the old place, when I went there years ago they were only open a couple a days a week but you couidnt beat the atmosphere like the holes in the floor where people had fallen through and they were patched with sheet metal and the owners then back had 2 things on the menu steak and clams and the food was pretty good, but like I said its been a few years since Ive been there.

I'll have to try that Beach Cafe, I saw that sign last time I was on PCH. I've been out of the area for the last 13 years, but in the old days my wife & I used to rent a Limo and go to the Sand Castle for that "special" night out, an upscale restaurant that used to be there at Paradise Cove. Awh...the good old days!

The malibu inn was always my sunday morning breakfast stop, followed by lunch at Ed and Verns( The Rock Store), a few frosty beverages on the way back at the bu inn, then you have numerous choices upon return to the city of smog, best pizza, Wildflower, either on main st or Lincoln blvd., Mexican, Panchos Tacos on Lincoln blvd, so good you didnt require a beer to wash it down............
