Artist Painting There ain't no such thing...

If you could design the perfect bike, what would it look like, where would you ride it, and what would be its spec's?

My perfect bike has changed with my age. Due to a partly missing vertibrae, I would build my bike around a Recaro bucket seat....It would have the comfort of a Goldwing, but weigh-in at less than 450 pounds...

For me, I'd start with the basic package: Sport tourer; powerful engine; good ergonomics; light weight; reasonable price.

I don't believe the perfect bike for any one individual can come from any assembly line. That's why the aftermarket exists.

Is the S&S Gator available to the general public, yet? The original Honda-powered models were immediately sold-out.

    Moto Guzzi California Vintage,
with footrests (not boards) carbs and pre engine-managment electrics (keeping it simple!).

Plenty fast enough & frugal, with character, that big V twin, reliability, comfort, decent handling, luggage capability and soooo much style.

    250lbs.
    300hp -- in a manage-ablish fashion.
    1800cc 3 or 4 cyl 2 stroke.
electronic oil and fuel direct injection.
narrow tank area, with scallops shaped to my knees.
seamless ABS, TCS and electronic active suspension

    street legal.

oh.. and a automagic cop / bad driver detector too.

Honda beat me to designing it - it's called a GL1800 GoldWing - any year of the GL1800 will work for me - slip

Close to what I have, but a little more room for a taller person like me. Sound like a hardly, but built correctly. An alarm when I'm sight seeing too long. Hey, its part of why I ride. A much better seat, like maybe a gel within, so the harder hits on the road don't hurt the back so much. Tough sides so I don't goo off to the side, but something to take the shock... Mr AJ
