The reason I didn't like the PR3s .. but to be fair, the PR2s did the same thing. I have heard others talk about this with various models of dual compound tires.

I never got caught in serious rain on either of these tires so I can't comment to that.

I noticed that with both, the PR2 and the PR3, when worn out to about 80 %. First it scared the hell out of me, now I just keep it a bit slower when the tires reach their end of life. I think, they handle very nice up to that 80 % point, and still last a lot longer than the Metzler roadtec I had in between, so I keep 'em.

The PR2 were good in rain, I hit only light rain with the PR3's so far, and liked them.

I noticed it on my PR2s when they got to around 8000 miles or so but it's been like this on the PR3s since I put them on. I'll probably get used to them in time.

Felt the exact opposite. I was amazed how much more planted in the rain the front tire was compared to my PR2s.

    1. I find these tires less confidence inspiring in the rain than the PR2s I used to run. The bike often feels like it's swishing back and forth when I'm on wet pavement. There were a couple of times when I got stuck in heavy downpours (curb high flooding) with the PR2s and they always felt like they were stuck to the ground.

    2. When turning the bike leans fairly smoothly to a point and then suddenly drops. Leaning with the PR2s was a lot smoother with no sudden drop.

Anyone else notice either of these things?
