    Laughlin/Bullhead Offroad

I'm new to the site and lived in Bullhead City, AZ for a couple of years and thought you might like to see some of the dirt around Laughlin and Bullhead.
I took a lot of pictures for myself never expected to post any of them so please don't be too critical of the photographer

I think I tried too much too soon (as usual). No description or location on the Pictures and not in the order intended (just another senior moment).
The 1st is Stone House Rd and is about 3 Mi. W of Laughlin, NV off Hwy 163.
2nd, Is Christmas Tree Pass also off Hwy 163, 10 t0 12 Mi. W of Laughlin and runs NW
to intersect US 95 about 30 Min. So. of Searchlight, NV
3rd, An old Mining building on Stone House Rd.
4th, Buck Wash Rd. off the AZ 95, on the AZ side of the Colorado River. Laughlin casinos in the distance
Finally, an old miners cabin, again off the AZ 95, way out on Rodeo DR.
Sorry for the mess... I really enjoyed the Pics from The Old Mojave Road trip.

Actually, great pictures Ron - I can even picture myself standing there. Well, okay, for the most part. The pics from your ride look like a really fun excursion! Do this often?

Really like this one! (resize them to 800wide x 600tall if you can so we can really enjoy the scene too)

Thank you for a great sight. I can't tell you how many of your pictures I've used as my putter wallpaper. Actually those pictures are from a lot of trips out on the desert. Some roads are worth a picture and some are not. However the ride is always GREAT. Here is a road you rocket guys would surely like. A stretch of old Route 66 between Oatman and Kingman, AZ. A popular ride for the folks that come to Laughlin for the River Run.
Since moving to Fernley, NV last year I've had some really awesome rides (not on the DR though) up around Lake Tahoe, Hwy.70 to Oroville, to mention a few.

    Oh WOW!

Just this evening we have slightly changed our Christmas plans to swing by Laughlin and visit relatives for a day or so.
I'll have my KTM (dual sport) so was thinking about looking for some shorter local rides.

What you've supplied in this post should be a good starter for me.
    Thanks!

If you've got any other recommendations for dirt rides around Laughlin, let me know.

I will also be doing a couple of days in Yuma (not many dirt rides there... that I know of).
Will follow this up with a day or two at Glamis.
    (Imperial Sand Dunes)
Get in some REAL sand riding!

Thanks for the pictures... and the road names!
Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight!

Ride as if your life depended on it!

    mOtO-ryder,
There are a lot of dirt roads in that area. If you head out of Laughlin on the 163 West watch on your right about 1 mile after you pass the Needles Hwy. You'll see a dirt road that comes back along side the 163 a short distance then heads out to the north. That would be Stonehouse/Telephone Rd. It's not marked off the Hwy so you must watch for the turn off (There are signs further in). Also there are roads off the main dirt Rd.
Christmas Tree Pass turn off is marked on the 163 and is a little further West and off to the right and is somewhat maintained at least until you get about 1/2 mile or so in, there you will see a road to your right if you go up there and park it's a short walk to an old Indian Petroglyph site.
If you go West across the bridge (68 to Kingman) about 6 1/2 miles you'll see
a dirt road off to your right that goes over a hill into an area honeycombed with roads. Be careful if you go off the roads. lots of old mines. Some go straight down and have no fences or anything to warn you off (watch for the piles of castings from the dig). Also don't approach any buildings/shacks that look occupied (Meth Labs).
Sorry, tried to upload a map without success. You should have a good time on the KTM out there if the winds not blowing too hard.
