How the new Edit function works.

How to use the new Edit function.

As you will see when you go to edit any of your posts the new version will simply open an editor window in the current thread.
This is pretty cool, but this editor has only partial edit capability.

    Take this post for example…
    Name: edit 1.jpg
Views: 258
Size: 51.7 KB

After pressing the “Edit” button (at the bottom) it will open a window that looks like this…

    Name: edit 2.jpg
Views: 258
Size: 40.1 KB

As you can see this "Editor in the Thread" is sufficient for about 90% of your edits.

However, if you want to manage attachments or do “some” text formatting (such as "text size” or justification”) you will need to hit the “Go Advanced “ button at the bottom of the editor window.

This will take you to the full window version of the editor.
    That looks like this…

    Name: edit 3.jpg
Views: 259
Size: 44.0 KB

Once you are done doing your editing you will simply need to hit “Save Changes”.
The program will save the changes and take you back to your post.

    Remember
A lot of editing can be done by “highlighting” that which you want to change then hitting the desired editor function. You will see the changes placed in the codes around your text.
The pre-change highlighted text will still be highlighted.
If you want another change to the same highlighted text just press that next editor function.
Example: Highlight a sentence and make it all Italic and then add Bold and then add Underlined.

Multiple changes can be done to an entire sentence w/o having to “re-highlighting”.

Re: How to use the new Edit function.

Something new (to me) was just pointed out.

There are two versions of the Editor Viewing.

When in the Editor window you can change the Editor viewing mode.
I have always just used the default standard mode.
This shows the changes you make in “bracketed” text delimiters.

You can see these changes in “actual” viewing mode (WYSIWYG) as well.

In the Full Screen Editor window at the upper right of the screen you will see two “As” separated by a Slash. (A/A)

As can be seen in this example

    Name: edit 4.jpg
Views: 254
Size: 58.9 KB

By pressing on this icon the editor viewing window toggles from “standard - bracket delimited” to “Actual” viewing modes.

Here's a view of the "Actual" versus the above "Standard" editor window...

    Name: edit 5.jpg
Views: 250
Size: 62.6 KB

Thanks Ben for this heads up!
