    *chuckles*

Jon "Inte" is one of my three brothers and an occasional lurker here. We are constantly giving each other a hard time about dirt vs pavement.

They're all pretty wild...but having both a 650gs and and 1150gs, I would think that getting the 1150 through this mess is exponentially more difficult! Wow!

I lost track of how many things went wrong, but it sounds like it was a helluva lotta fun anyway! :-)

    Been there, done that, lol.

I like the privateers in the Dakar that poke fun at the way the factory riders treat their bikes-because someone else has to fix them at the end of the day.
Or someone else has to pay for the repairs!

Maybe I am getting old, but I have a lot of fun between 10 and 25 mph. If I want to crawl over rocks I will get in my 4wd.

I don't power slide middle of forest service roads, I take the outside right hand line. Especially after a narrow encounter with a bulldozer on the bed of a semi-truck on a narrow remote forest service road!

Old fogey stuff aside- more power to those adventure riders, there's worse things they could be doing!

Re: Not quite ready for this....

Hi everyone! I enjoyed reading your comments about the blog that i posted so i finally decided to open an account with pashnit.

DustJunkie and Inte are great riders and very helpfull. They have several posting on advrider on the rides they'll be attending if you want to join them.

Also, dakariste i'm not sure what you meant by "I like the privateers in the Dakar that poke fun at the way the factory riders treat their bikes-because someone else has to fix them at the end of the day. Or someone else has to pay for the repairs!"... i made the repair myself with the help f DustJunkie and paid for the parts myself. the price of that weekend was more than i wanted to spend but the expience was priceless! i'll post a blog on it sometime this week.

I was thinking more of the bills for my rides of a similar nature!
I average $100-$200 or so every 1000 miles! I'm trying to learn to keep it upright.

    2 jesse luggage racks
3 or 4 sprockets and chains
    swingarm
    handle bars
    too much other stuff...

    I hear KTM's handle better off road...lol
