Re: Hwy 229, Creston Country Store
hah - yeah - I remember that mileage sign fondly.
And 229 is not to be missed if you are in the area. |

Re: Hwy 229, Creston Country Store
Bit of trivia- science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard, known for starting his own religion, the Church of Scientology, spent his final days in tiny Creston until dying in 1986.
After lunch - Very unique stretch of road headed south out of Creston down to Highway 58. La Panza is fun backroad too! ![]() |

Re: Hwy 229, Creston Country Store - San Luis Obispo Co
Also nearby is the Pozo Saloon. http://pozosaloon.com
Last time I tried to check the place out they were closed, but I hear they've got decent burgers. Sometimes they have concerts in their backyard. Word has it Wille Nelson is gonna play there in May. Not really a country fan myself, but seeing Willie play a little hole in the wall like that would probably be pretty cool. |
