Gary - Had a Weekend Incident

This is preliminary information about Gary. Donna will update it later.

Gary was on a ride some where East of Reno on Sunday, hardpacked dirt road, came over a hill and there was an exposed culvert on the back side of the hill. Front wheel caught the culvert & sent him over the bars. Simple explanation, we don't know much more at this point.

Gary was Life Flighted out to Renown Medical Center in Reno. He has a broken wrist, 2 places, had surgery last night to put in a pin and set the wrist. He has broken ribs and a badly bruised lung. He is still in the hospital at this point for observation for the bruised lung.

I did talk to Gary at 9:30pm last night, he was in good spirits and ready to go home then. I talked to Donna this morning, she was on her way back to the hospital & will update me later. I will post an update as soon as I hear from her.

Donna will update this post when more details when she has a chance.

Bill, I guess I wouldn't mind riding pillion, but I doubt I'd make a very good passenger for Donna! You and GSDave and Virago700/Howard are thinking along the same lines... joking, I assume? hehehe.... Anyhow, the right wrist is broken, so no shooting the SLR until the cast is off. But I can report that the Canon Rebel XTi, brought to me by the very generous donations from the Pashnit family, survived the crash far better than I did -- intact! Phew!!!

Gary, patch up soon. While I appreciate your wanting to sympathize with those of us Sick, Lame, & Lazy types...you really did not have to go this far. Race ya to the first one to get back on the bike (not fair, I know)?

That's funny, Mark. We went to Fallon this afternoon to look at the bike. It was standing up, on the side stand, looking pretty normal. The front fender is broken, missing a section in front, and the fairing and windshield took the brunt of the impact. tho neither cracked. We cranked the handlebars straight and the front end looked true, forks straight. So I popped it into neutral, pulled in the clutch and asked Donna to hit the ignition. The Beast fired right up! I gotta say, I was tempted to hopon the bike and see if she could roll! But for the broken wrist... sigh.

Hehe... anyway, re-reading your comment got me thinking that I almost beat ya.
