I normally don't post up these sorts of things, but this is a quick plug for the Pashnit Tour that covers the High Sierra regions of this lil mountain range we have in our backyard. We've been running this tour for several years and it's become just a great time all together.

It's all types of riders, all walks of life, and all types of bikes. That's Pashnit.

Friday (8/1/08) we'll be hitting The Little Dragon, plus Yosemite Valley.

You could be at work this particular Friday. Or you could be right here. Which sounds better?





Then onto Yosemite National Park

I often marvel at riders that have lived nearby for 20 some years & never been there.





It's a sight to behold.





Saturday, start your day with a view like this:

No Phones. No TV. Not even an alarm clock.


Then start your ride by heading off into this:


The Sierra Nevada Mountains don't need much of an introduction.

Or inducement to get on that bike and go ride.

Just a beautiful magical place to be on a motorcycle.





There'll be lots of this.


And it'll make you feel like this.


And there's always minded riders that love to ride as much as you do.



Sunday, it gets even better.

There are so many Wow's! on this ride, I've starting calling it 'The Wow Factor'.








And when we're not riding, those can be enjoyable times too!



Plus we like to check out cool stuff along the way.



Overall, it's a rockin' good time.

A time to get away from it all.

To lose yourself. A time to reflect.

On whatever needs reflecting.



You'll need a new set of these when you get back.


Maybe even a new set of these.

You know what? You girls get to do a bit of "girlie" crap that weekend, and we men compensate by doing some "manly-man" stuff.

Tim, I seriously plan on the wife and I making the Sierra-Nevada tour as our summer trip next year!

Tim, Are the fires in our area gonna change your route? The girly ride is keeping close tabs on the fire movement this week. I heard that right now our hotel rooms in Oakhurst are all taken up by firefighters.

They were evacuating outside Mariposa a day or so ago, and that's one of our gas stops. So yep, the original plan was to go right up the middle through the valley into the park. But that's right where the fire is. But can always change the route on the fly, plus check the CalTrans site the night before the ride.

We typically have lunch in Yosemite Valley, but day ago, they had no power. But am optimistic! Lil article I was reading said Yosemite NP gets 18,000 visitors per day and no one seems to be leaving.

So much smoke on the last ride in the end of June, can't imagine it getting much worse than the green haze we rode through for 2 1/2 days.

Full crew of us on this ride, 11 I think, with three couples. See you in a couple days Steve!
