CALTRANS 1-800 number....
Hi all,
I love this NEW forum. I have a small contribution I would like to share with everyone. I have the CALTRANS 1800 number in my cell phone and always use this in routing my trips. It is an automated system that you can dial and press the hwy/fwy # and it will tell you the current condition and if there is/are any closures or work being performed. It has always served me well and has always been updated daily. I have yet to get caught on road construction traffic when it said the road was open. Program this into your phone 1.800.427.7623 I hope this helps ya'll as much as it has helped me.

This is pretty cool Tom - this will help us when we're out running around Cali on tour.

Re: CALTRANS 1-800 number....
Awesome!! Great idea, especially when out on a multi-day journey and you feel like changing your route and exploring and don't have access to websites that have road closure info. That number is in my phone now! Thanks for digging it up!

I use it many, many times in the winter for trips to Tahoe.
