Your most "Unfullfilled" Motorcycle wish
After reading Jonkull's "Not feeling too Pashnit Lately" thread I got to thinking about what keeps me interested and wanting to continue riding. I decided that it wasn't just the sport of riding, but also of the travel I get to do and the people I get to meet.
I also realized that there is a lot of things I want to do, places I want to go, sites I want to see before hanging up my gear. So I'm wondering - what is the one thing that you have yet to do on your bike that you want to do before you quit riding - it could be "ride all the pashnit roads" or "ride Ca-36 with perfect lines the whole way" or just about anything. My biggest unfullfilled wish is to ride my bike (not the Goldwing) from Purdue Bay South through the US and then Central America and then as far South in South America as I can make it. (Where's Ewen McGreggor when you need him.... )What's yours? Cheers!

Re: Your most "Unfullfilled" Motorcycle wish
I don't have any single one motorcycle wish....I have many!
We hope to start riding further next year, exploring alot of places around the west that we'd never probably bother to go otherwise (if we had to go by car). I hope to sell my '02 Gixxer before then and buy one that's newer/less miles. I really want a Yamaha R1, but that's way beyond my budget/riding skills! ![]() To see as much of this country as possible before I can't ride anymore (for whatever reason) is what I aim to do in the coming years! Also, would like to take more training classes and become a better rider! ![]() And while we're talkin' 'bout it....meet more folks with similar interests in riding and making new friends. Which I seriously need after having virtually NO social life for YEARS!! Those are just a fraction of my motorcycle dreams and wishes!!

Re: Your most "Unfullfilled" Motorcycle wish
I want to travel as much on the bike as I can. Dad was a traveler and mom loved the mountains. I cant wait to see the Pacific Northwest. People ask me why I want to do my trip on 2 wheels instead of 4. I just look at them and say, it's the passion within me that drives me to ride. You cant catch the smells of the world in a car like you can on a bike. Sure I have traveled the country in a truck, but it just isnt the same. I guess, in a way, it's an adventure every time I get on. Even if it's just a short ride.

ALL of Western Canada, my birthplace of North Vancouver, B.C., and then on to Alaska where they can bury me with the bike, right then and there....game over
that's my story and I'm sticking to it !!

Re: Your most "Unfullfilled" Motorcycle wish
I'm boring...I'd like to actually leave for Big Sur and make it the whole way there and back. On a grander scale I'd love to tour Australia on two wheels. On an even grander scale I'd like to get over my fear of heights and actually see a lot of the places you people ride in person and not through pictures posted on a website. I don't know... It's hard to think of one thing.

Re: Your most "Unfullfilled" Motorcycle wish
I want to see the East Coast on my bike, instead of from the inside of a C-130 at altitude. Kind of like a triangular route from OKC to Florida, to Maine, the back to OKC.
I also want to see Yellowstone, the Monument, etc in that area.

I would liek to do all 4 corners of the country on the Busa as well.
And Turkus, I second the Alaska ride!!

Re: Your most "Unfullfilled" Motorcycle wish
Can't narrow it to just one:
1. Four corners of the US, but take 1-2 months so I can really SEE the sights, not just ride through them. 2. Ride to Alaska and back - got a cousin up there that keeps asking me to visit, never have gotten around to it. 3. Tour Europe on a bike, see the sights, explore some of my pre-Ellis Island family history. |

I know what you mean...
![]() looking back at my knee-jerk response I will qualify it with this: there a TON of other places that I like to ride to and ogle, if I manage to get them in then they are gravy..... going home to Canada/Alaska will ALWAYS be at the top of the list....

Re: Your most "Unfullfilled" Motorcycle wish
I did one of my big motorcycle wishes two years ago when I did a 11 day ride thru the the Swiss Alps and the Italian Dolomites. That trip included riding over the Passo Del Stelvio. My memories of the ride are still vivid and fresh. It was all I thought it would be and more.
I have several MC wishes on my list that are yet unsatisfied. Ride the Pacific Coast Highway. I'm a Cal native and never gotten to do this. I'm hoping 2010 might be the year I do get to take the ride Ride Deals Gap/The Dragon This one's still on the table. I'm hoping my son and I can do this one together in the near future. Ride to Alaska Still on my list, but looking less likely as each year goes by and I still haven't made the trip. Never say never. Attend Intermot Again, as the years go by this is looking a lot like it'll never happen. Isle of Man TT Hmmm, this might stay a wish. It's getting harder to make plans for big trips like this as I get older. I still try to take one big trip every year. And the local stuff like the Texas Hill Country and Arkansas still gets my blood going. As long as I have a motorcycle in the garage I'll be planning trips. The planning is part of the fun for me.
