Getting ready for the great adventure

I retired 12/30/2011 after 43 years with pt&t,pacbell,sbc and at&t.

This coming April I will be headed out on a (for me) great adventure. I will ride from California to Florida to Maine to Washington State and Home.
This will be a flower sniffer and it will take between 8-10 weeks to complete.
I'm pulling a little HF Tag-along trailer so I can have a few camping luxuries.

I created a webpage to share with my friends this adventure.
Complete with GPS tracking and active blog. I also plan on posting pictures and vids as I journey around the country.

Enjoy

Tim, congratulations on your retirement - I'm envious!

I will be following your trip with great interest as there are still plenty of places in the USA that I haven't seen yet.

Ride safe.

Jules

Re: Getting ready for the great adventure

UPDATE:
With 21 days to go before I head out on this trip everything seems to be going pretty smoothly, frighteningly so in fact. Getting new rubber on the bike Tuesday and tune up (syncing carbs) also. The Trailer has been packed and repacked and all the gear has been loaded or staged for loading.
I kinda know how the astronauts felt before they launched, though this is no Moon orbit by any stretch. One can't over plan or check.
Severe weather still troubles me, but if I have to hole up someplace or change direction, it can be easily done. I don't really have a timeline which makes the trip pretty flexible.
I keep waiting for some snag, but so far its been a clear path to D-Day.
The webpage is getting a lot of hits and I have been getting many "Good Trip" wishes and its very encouraging.

Thanks Everyone

Tim

Ok, forget every one else being happy for you... I seriously dislike you, and it's all jealousy!!!!

Seriously though, many congratulations on the retirement! It's great to see you taking full advantage of the fruits of your labor! I'm going to follow your blog with baited breath! Please take plenty of pictures.
