Scotland March 30th 2012
Set off for Scotland a little late in the day fri 30-03-12,arrived a little late for the ferry at Cloch to Sandbanks Dunnoon
Never crossed in the dark before hope the key is available for our overnight stay Well we stayed on the boat last night rocked to sleep by the lapping waves and a few beers in Sandbanks.Saved putting the tent up Holy Loch was nice to wake up to these sites at 8am Great views all round, but we are moving on to Fort William and Mallaig. The boat belonged to a fellow biker he just parkes it here .We are up and ready for breakfast. Ready to roll. Cafe was closed today in the Marina no tea??? ![]() More pics to follow .

Re: Scotland March 30th 2012
Bike all loaded and we are off to Mallaig via Fort William
First we will call at Arrochar,a place i stayed at 35 years ago and have never been back .Riding along the A815-A83-A82 up to Tyndrum then through Glen Coe Arrochar nice to be back here ,not changed much at all This is the top of Loch Long Used by Submarines long ago . Hills at Arrochar, lot of new parking here now for the walkers. Nice backdrop, at least it is not raining this time . Petrol not cheap here ,at Sandbanks Holy loch you could only have £20 worth each ,well onward to Mallaig

Re: Scotland March 30th 2012
It looks like you almost had the place to yourselves without the throngs of tourists. On my last trip to the UK we headed north and toured Scotland for a couple of weeks. Nice scenery when the rain and mist cleared, but the weather sucked most of the time, even though it was supposed to be summer.I'm hoping for better weather next year when I plan on giving it another go and also take in Ireland. This time I will take my Canadian winter weather proofs and look forward to a more comfortable ride.
