 Just like stickers. There is a right and a left.Removed the old grips (that was not easy), and then unwrap the handlegrip heaters, and place on the bars, then slide on the new Busa grips. Hardest part was sliding the new grip all the way on without damaging anything. Then routing wires underneath triple tree and through the fairing. |

Wiring in the toggle switch. I drilled a small hole in the dash panel by the triple tree. Then searched for a hot wire to tap into. Make sure it shuts off when the key is off, wouldn't want to drain battery when bike is off.

Great excuse for a new set of custom Busa handlegrips - mere $17 from Rumble Imports. (they have 'em for all kinds a bikes!)
Then all done! Just need to hide all the wires with zip ties and all good! Ready for winter touring! Like I said - for $36 bucks - I should have done this years ago!!  Okay, I think I'm off to see the snow. Think I can find some around 7000 ft.  |

It's about time!
 FWIW, your grips will come off a lot easier if you squirt a light lube like WD-40 under the grips; slip the red extension tube under the grip and then add a little squirt. Wiggle/rotate the grip, wait a few minutes, repeat. The grip will come off without too much effort if you're patient. Thoroughly clean the inside of the grip and the bar-end. To reinstall, either use rubber cement thinned with acetone or hair-spray if you really want them stuck in place...make sure everything is perfect before you goop and insert, as re-doing it will be ugly. I've found that the stick-on grip heaters are a little on the wimpy side, so the circuit that provides the low heat setting is rarely used. Wimpy is still far better than numb fingers. |

Suggest that you use a black tie tag to firmly anchor each grip wire at the point where it exits the little heater pad, right at the grip. Otherwise over time, the wire will start to work itself loose (especially the right throttle grip).
You might also buy some coiled wire cover to cover the newly installed wiring. |
