Stuck in Chico, CA
Today I am leaving to Chico. My boss is sending me to Chico, CA for managing a new site with a new manager there. It's going to be a long 2 weeks and wonder if anyone can show me around during the day after work and do a short ride. I will be taking the bike of course. This weekend, I would go to Auburn, Topaz. The following weekend would like to try Hwy 36 and cool roads in the area.
How is the temp. in Chico? Hope it's not going to be triple digits.

Re: Stuck in Chico, CA
Hey Fenny,
See Syd's post 'had some fun today'. Her route goes right past Chico to the south if you're up for 400 miles. Or just up and down 70. Or up Oroville-Quincy Hwy/Bucks Lake rd to Quincy and back down 70. Or up 32 to Almanor, and back one of the routes on the list. Caution on 70 and in Quincy, speed enforcement is pretty strict. Temps in Chico are supposed to be O.K. this coming week, though they do sometimes break the century mark. Nice that all those cool canyon routes are just up the hill and folks can get out of the heat for a bit. Enjoy, Badger/John |

It's a lot like Fremont was in the 1970's. You'll probably be here for twenty years...

PM Oddball_One (Matthew) ...he'd love to show you around (I would but I have 3 kidlets to watch and I'm sure Oddball_one's skills are much closer to yours than mine are right now!
...and you're in luck...at least for this week...cooler temps... and you're not stuck!! You're close to Lassen, Hwy 36, Almanor, Hwy 32, Hwy 70, La Porte Rd, ... You'll love it! There's even a new Sweet Shop that just went in downtown!! Have fun! And be sure to stop by and say Hi!

Fenny,
I haven't been to Chico in many years, but remeber it as a beautiful place! Now, if you can claim all the mileage as work related..... Ally

Re: Stuck in Chico, CA
Actually...for your non-moto-related pleasure there is
One Mile at Bidwell Park for swimming, Bidwell Park itself, The Bidwell Mansion, Farmer's Market in Downtown Chico on Thursday evenings and Saturday Mornings, The Chico Museum, a library, PLENTY of bars if you're into that sort of thing, a movie theatre, The Stansbury House, The Yo-Yo Museum, the Barry Kirschner Wildlife Foundation, the Chico Creek Nature Center, the Hotel Diamond, the Chico Theatre Company, local shopping (Check out the Made In Chico store downtown or check out Orient and Flume Blown Glass, it is amazing!) and eating, um...and lots more!! See, you're not stuck!!
