34 Days Through the Western United States and Canada

A Note from the Editor:

The best things in life are often a product of two stories. There’s the pure pleasure and enjoyment of a life-changing experience, but there’s usually a good deal of preparation and anticipation before we actually make it to the big events. Consider for a moment what goes into the making of an epic road journal: the planning, the anticipation, the hard work, getting everything to gel before undertaking the first of many...

I'm surprised no one in Santa Cruz hipped you to RTS 9 and 35 north. It's a world famous motorcycle destination. It's a trip through the redwoods that can be fast and beautiful. At the junction of 84 and 35 is Alices Resturaunt. On a weekend in the summer you can see there, bikes from all over the world and talk to bikers from Europe, South America and Australia etc. Keep it in mind for your next trip to Ca. Beautiful story and pictures by the way.

Simply MASTERFUL!

If a picture is worth a thousand words, you have written something that puts War & Peace to shame.

The beauty of it all, and I am quite sure you will agree, is that no matter how spectacular or inspirational your trip was, there is always another one, every bit as good as the last, out there waiting for you.

Terrific top quality report! It sincerely gave me some much desired flashbacks.

PS: Glad you enjoyed visiting Vancouver.

I'm addicted to this article. I've read it several times, yet I return to it every 6 months or so. Photos are just awsome!
Thanks

Wow, all I can say is thank you. Amazing how thorough you were. I've been planning a trip from MN to the Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado area and I've stolen several spots from your write up. No doubt many others have done the same.

Truly incredible!!!

Great stuff, really love your ride log and photos, thank you for creating it.

Riding through Colorado is amazing, I've done it several times and it's great to revisit them via your photos.

I "accidentally" ended up on the 317 and rode it into Crested Butte. The road was not bad for unpaved and with looming clouds all around
I was quite nervous. If it were to rain, the road would be very slick mud, not the best thing on a road bike.
Here's one of my favorite pics on that road of my cruiser.

Great pictures and narrative. I'm only on page 10 and will finish later. I lived in CA for 30 years and drove many of the roads you were on in the Sierra only I was on 4 wheels. Can't wait to get back there to ride them on my Goldwing. I'll be taking part of your trip through Estes Park and down to the Utah border when I return from Yellowstone Park after Labor Day to my home in AZ. I have adjusted my trip slightly to take some to the roads you did which I was going to avoid being unsure of the narrow grey lines on the map. Thanks so much for publishing your trip.
