Matthewp's "Back to the Sandbox" ride. MEET TIME CHANGE TO 0900

As per my Chit-Chat thread on my new "vacation," I want to hash out a good time to ride.

Date: August 22nd. Meet at the Chevron at I 15 and 138 in the Cajon Pass at 0900 (9:00 am for you civilian weenies.). Route will be through the Rim of the World/Big Bear area. Lunch will be at the beautiful and tasty Bear Belly Deli.

I also would like to dedicate my ride to SPC Matthew Swanson, who will be laid to rest the same day. God bless my fellow comrade who gave the ultimate gift to his God and Country. I will have an ACU camoflage ribbon on the bike in his rememberance.

Re: Matthewp's "Back to the Sandbox" ride.

Given the time of year, staying higher will be better. At least for those that don't spend their days in 115+ heat during the summer.

Here is a one day ride that could work. Add a few files for me, and a few (many) more for you to get to the starting mark then home again.

catchy title there dude

I'm in as long as it doesn't land between 13 Aug to 25 Aug....pretty much every other weekend is doable...

I Like that route, maybe if we add a little bit further north as well (or would that be too far?).

maybe something a little closer to your back yard MP ??
the mountains definitely look inviting ......I guess it will all be dictated by who RSVPs (and from whence they came )

besides....we should find an eating establishment suitable for all of us and the public embarassment that will be dished up as your "Going Away Roast/Gift".....

North works for me:
138 up and over to the 18? Could do a big bear, Idyllwild route like what I did two weekends ago.
Or go West to the 2 and down Big Pine and over to Elisabeth

I'm in! Just need to know when and where. I am sure I can drag a few of the Bako crowd with me.

Matt ~

I, for one, would be sorely disappointed if you didn't....

But, then, the pious optimism and the glib theatricality are disturbed every now and again by intrusions of shattering realities.
