I think the relay, connectors, and a pack of zip-ties was about $10.

Make sure your wiring is tidy i.e. keep it away from anything that would rub on it or melt it. I zip-tied mine to the existing wiring where I could, and to the brake lines in a few other spots.

I had it zip tied to existing wiring as well.

I just checked. The relay is $6. I have connectors and zip ties already. We'll see how it goes...

I connect my heated gear to two Powerlet outlets (one for the jacket and gloves, and one for the pants and socks) connected to my fuse block and relay (AP-2 switched side). I've never had any problem with the jacket, pants, gloves, or socks. At least not yet!
