Too Short Visit to the Grand Canyon

Although I was not on the bike for this trip, my two-day visit to the Grand Canyon reminded me that, one day, I must travel US 89 from stem to stern on the motor.

I often think what it would have been like to be riding across the country on horseback or in a wagon and suddenly you come across this freakin' huge hole in the earth. I am blown away by it now, but imagine then...

It's truly beautiful country and you definitely need time to see it. Did you go by Lee's Ferry?

Visited Lee's Ferry a few years back on the way to the (currently closed for winter) North Rim. I can understand why Edward Abby was so taken by the southwest. It is enchanting, sparsely populated and, AND!!! there is a Guzzi dealer in Prescott!
