Easter Egg Run 2012

The weather had been fine for a few days and we were looking forward to a run across to Whitstable for the Easter Egg Run.

Our small band met at the Blue & White Cafe for breakfast/brunch before the rather spirited run from the south to the north of Kent.

I tried out my new TomTom Urban Rider and after failing to record the run the previous week to the Ride of Respect, I managed to get it working.



Our group consisted of Cal and Graeme on their GS650 twins, Graham and Steven on a brace of Triumphs and Ian and me on a pair of BMW's. Ian actually on the first ride out on his new (to him) K1300GT.

My ride to the Blue & White was a bit of a roundabout trip as I had a ride out across Romney Marsh avoiding cyclists that seemed to consider the narrow marsh roads as one way streets with them all over the show.

Even though we attempt to use the "drop off" method we got split up! Caught behind a car on a narrow lane Steven and I lost contact with the others and we then ploughed on regardless and actually were in the traffic into Whitstable when the "hares" caught the "tortoises".



As not all of us were going on the run to the children's home or the children's ward in the hospital, I decided to take some photos of the bikes left the parking. I won't bore you with all the pix, but the link will let you see some of the day.

Looks like a darned fine turnout, Paul. Good group, good cause and a lovely day, what could be better?
