Re: Canada Bound
www.destinationhighways.com British Columbia. Ride #3 through Crows Nest pass. Avoid #1 the Trans Canada. However, you could ride up to Banff and up through the Columbia Ice Fields to Jasper and West on #16 the Yellowhead Highway. Catch #5 and ride South West to Kamloops over to #1 and down the Fraser Canyon.

Re: Canada Bound
The End of August is a good time to go usually.
Are you mainly sightseeing or wanting curvy road to rip on? Are you camping or moteling? Any road but hwy 1 and you should be very happy. Research what parks you want to see. Lake Louise is very beautiful. Most of BC is fabulous. If your route takes you to a ferry; they are free. MC's go to the head of the line on most of them and that means you also get off first. DO NOT TRAVEL AT NIGHT They have lots of large animals that might be in the road. |

Re: Canada Bound
Only the inland lake ferries are free. The big mother to Van. Island is costly. For sure don't ride at night. Remember, we charge more for gas, food, lodging and t-shirts. Hope you don't smoke, you'll really get burned in Canada. If you stop in the National Parks you'll have to pay, not so to ride on through. Oh, when you see a road sign saying 100, it's kph not mph:-)

Another note; The gas is a bit more, but most of the station have the Ethanol free gas. Which means you will get a little bit better mileage, because the "filler" is not there. |
