at the risk of getting kicked out of the clubhouse, to be honest I'd rather save the bike for playtime and put all those miles on cheap cage. You're talking 3,000 freeway miles a month. That's a lot of riding with very little quality miles.

Thank you everyone. I have decided to keep the Daytona. I only have 23K on it. Just got its check up and all is good. I think I will start working on the mods to help it handle the task ahead.

Has anyone had any experience with ConvetiBars? The clip-on are my real issue with using this bike for the commute.

I plan on changing the gearing from 18/42 to 19/43, should drop the RPM's just enough to in the "fuel ecomony mode"

Anyone know how effective "Throttlemiester Heavy" is?

T-miester or any quality throttle lock is good. Lane splitt'n locked not good.
