Re: PashnitBikeBuild: Modding the NEW Pashnit Hayabusa

Ever get parts showing up, then get so excited, you pull an all nighter to get it all bolted on. Finished up at 5am. Tinkering was never so fun.

Been staring at that black for the last 15,000 miles. Black has to go.

Last weekend...

New panels finally arrive from RaceReady.us, special thanks to them for handling the paint work. Perfect match!

Gold rims have to go too.

Re: PashnitBikeBuild: Modding the NEW Pashnit Hayabusa

The Suzuki GSXR1000 front fender is a direct bolt on, and we sell them.

So picked up an unpainted one and sent it over to RaceReady.us

BUY NOW: http://www.pashnitmoto.com/product_p/ff.htm

Pulling the stock off is not easy. The right side has a clip with a Philips head on the inside that you can't reach with the tire on. Elbow grease later, out it comes and the new one slides right in. Paint is a perfect match. Very different look, we'll see how I like it.

Notice the Cox Racing radiator guards - must have for the Sport-touring aficionado.

Re: PashnitBikeBuild: Modding the NEW Pashnit Hayabusa

Here's the new lower panel. They suck to put on. All kinds of tabs have to line up.

All snapped together:

But first.... Let's put on our Chrome Fairing Screen kit. Very popular with busa owners, cleans up the look and feel of the bike.

BUY NOW: http://bz.pashnitmoto.com/category_s/21.htm

We ship them pre-labeled, and pre-formed: very simple to just place them on the vent holes.

There is a trick to this install. I used some wood working clamps to hold them in place. Our kit includes the Quick-Set Epoxy. Just dab it onto the corners it 3-4 places and done. The 60-second Epoxy sets very quick: in seconds so you need to work very quickly. I ended up using two packages of epoxy, so you might want to pick up a spare at the hardware store.

Sweet! Chrome looks awesome, it glows!

Camera mounts, camera mounts, oh we love thee!

Check out this very trick custom-made one-off fairing bolt made for us by Chris over at ExtremeBusa.

It's a milled fairing bolt with a RAM ball on one end. Thanks Chris, this a very cool mounting position. Try it out on the next tour.

Re: PashnitBikeBuild: Modding the NEW Pashnit Hayabusa

We've been a Ventura dealer for many years, and in preparation for the 1000MileDay.com ride, it was finally time to add this. Wasn't sure if I'd like this mod, it's more 'hard-part stuff' on the bike & the build theme is to smooth out and clean up the look of the Hayabusa.

But the New Zealand based Ventura product are very well-known and much loved by the sport-touring community.

Take a look at the rack for your bike:

Problem though is it's that black color again.

So off to RaceReady.us it went for paint... What a difference the matched blue color makes!

Awesome!

Only problem is now the hump won't go on.

Aw well, time to get out the dremmel.

Re: PashnitBikeBuild: Modding the NEW Pashnit Hayabusa

So here's some more fun at a low cost. The dilemma is how to mount the all new Adaptiv V2 Radar Detector on the bike. We had the V1 when that came out, now Adaptiv Technologies has redesigned & improved their internals, external power wire, and with our upcoming 1000MileDay.com ride, it felt important to have the detector on the bike as we zip across Nevada for our 1000 Mile Day. And we already have the AdaptivMount™ Sportbike Mount on the bike.

But we've got another Pashnit Tour this coming weekend to lead, no time to order in any more parts. Hmm, how to solve.

Adaptiv Radar more info & BUY NOW : http://www.pashnit.com/product/adaptiv_radar_buy.html

So.... Let's make a mount. Found a piece of scrap wood laying around the shop, and we're going to carve it out with a break-away razor.
