Lets Eat Rib Ranch BBQ, Woodland Hills, CA

The Rib Ranch is located on Topanga Canyon blvd, cross st Providencia. I used to live around the corner on Providencia in the '70s, and it was a favorite spot to get a quick take-out dinner or lunch. I stopped there not too long ago and it's exactly the same as it used to be. They've got the usual ribs, chicken, and burgers, but it's their bbq sauce that's different. Really good! Easy access from the mountains, too, although I'd come through the back way and avoid Topanga entirely. Come down...

Oh man... I just got around to reading this thread. I remember all those places from working at Rocketdyne and the now defunct, ESG division of Rockwell. There was a place right behind Rocketdyne, I think it was called Mission Burrito. They had a sitdown restaurant or the walk up window. A total dive but good food.

Farrells wasn't from Rockwell but from neighbor kid birthday parties. That was THE place to go.

Oh the flashbacks... my head! my head!!

Yeah I remember DuPar's! I think there's still one in Thousand Oaks. Or how about The Eater's Digest across from the Topanga Mall I think? They did the sign out front and the menus in the style of Reader's Digest Magazine.
The Munch Box I remember well. But I can't go there anymore. My ex lives just down the street, so that's bad juju!
And now I'll throw down my trump card: who remembers Fung Lum Chinese Restaurant on Ventura Blvd near where Gemco used to be? And for another retail store memory, who remembers The Treasury?

I remember Mission Burrito. Wasn't it on Devonshire?
Rocketdyne I remember well. Hearing Saturn V and Shuttle engines rumbling and bellowing away on test was something I'll never forget. Used to rattle the windows of my house in Malibu Canyon sometimes if the wind changed direction during the tests. Did you know that the Soviet Union had at least two tactical nukes targeted for that facility if WWIII started?

Hey, that sounds like fun!
I've been planning to ride down anyway to visit friends. Perhaps at Woodland Hills Park?

Original Mission Burrito was/is on VanOwen at Canoga, next to Sierras. Now there is one on Roscoe and Fallbrook and one in Simi Valley on Tapo, good food cheap.

I live right below the engine test site, but on the Simi side.
