Central Cal - Hwy 101 - King City Mexican place

Got a chance to stop here awhile back. King City is a major stopping point along Hwy 101 for gas & eats & such. There are serveral cookie-cutter restaurants right by the freeway, but if you actually ride down main street (eastward) to the very end right before the turn onto Bitterwater Rd (over to Hwy 25) you pass by this place (north side of road). Great mexican place.

Good outdoor seating too.

The portions are huge, of course, and the food pretty good too.

Anyone know if this is El Lugarcito? A restaurant with that name is shown in about that location on Microsoft Streets and Trips...

Don't believe so. Mariscos comes to mind. It is on the north side of the street next to Monterey Co Social Services. Was just there on Saturday. The outdoor patio has been enclosed. A really good burrito was $2.50, and that included a side of rice and beans, and chips and salsa. Remembered the salsa on Sunday morning, if ya know what I mean

I was just there a few weeks ago, the name of this place is "El Lugarcito." The food was pretty good, but the "indoor patio" was warmer than the outside temp (which was pretty high).

(FYI, "mariscos" is the word for "seafood" in spanish, hence it's presence on the menu.)
