On another forum a member actually bragged about tossing cigarettes out the car window. Sure glad he/she don't live in California.

Ole Smoky reminds us Californian's of the disasters of being careless with fire. I can still remember the little magnetic Smoky Bear cigarette snuffers my Uncle had on his dash.

I remember thinking as we rode through the burn area,,, wonder how much of that timber could have been salvaged and harvested? I saw one small stack of logs up near the top of the ridge but nothing anywhere else. Such a waste, the fire is bad enough, but to leave good timber to rot seems criminal,,, stupid at the very least! But,,, boy what a view you get up on those ridges !!! Cowboy
