That's where I bought my last helmet Bruce. I am not a big fan either but your right they do have someone behind the counter to help.

Went to Cycle Gear this afternoon and bought a Shoei RF 1100. They didn't have the color that I wanted so I have to go back in a couple days to pick it up. Got some smaller cheek pads to go with it ( I have too much of my own cheek padding I guess) and a tinted visor. Seems like a pretty good fit. Hope that I like it for the long haul!

I also bought a shoei neotec and have been very happy with it. A very high quality helmet.

So I read lots of online reviews. Read how to measure my helmet size and finally ordered it online. I had friends who said I should buy from a local shop but none of them had it in stock nor could they get one quick. Cycle Gear being the exception. They would have ordered it.

Got it in 2 days. It fits so I'll keep it but an exchange would have been easy.

I know it hurts the brick and motor stores but I don't feel guilty about buying online.

The wife just picked up my Shoei RF 1100 today cause I was working OT. They gave me a 15% discount for having taken the MSF course. Saved me about 66 bucks with all the stuff I bought. That covers the 25 bucks I would have saved online.
