CA 49 – Downieville to Sattley – Construction Update

The good news is ~ NO ROADWORK OVER HOLIDAYS on CA Hwys. Doesn't mean they won't be ugly roads but they have to have things pretty buttoned up. Normal roadwork is Sunday PM to Friday & off the road by noon......

Stuff still happens but the companies by thru the nose if they overstep the boundries.

We had even taken our place in line and I walked up to the guy to ask/let him know (usually I just ride to the front), and the flagger with a real attitude told me to get back to the bikes, and no, we couldn't get to the front. Must be the same guy that threatened to call the CHP on me when I rode to the front of the line on 70 west of Quincy some time in the past year or so. I told him it was called lane sharing and was legal in California. He still gave me attitude and told me he had half a mind to hold me until the entire line of cars went thru. I didn't say anything but I remember thinking I agreed with him having half a mind.

We are riding to Yosemite this weekend and like to ride Little Dragon. What is the status of that section? Anybody knows?

May 16th it was in great shape, like butter -- they were trimming bushes and what-not, but a I am sure they are done with that now.
