Mosquito Ridge - From Folsom and Back
The wife and I wanted to finally meet up with Sydney (Fishwitch) and go on a ride since we are practically neighbors and all! So we met up in Folsom for breakfast at MELS Diner and headed out Auburn Folsom Road up to Auburn.
From there we headed out 49 south to Cool and then out 193 to Georgetown. Did I mention that it was a perfect day? Blue sky with puffy clouds and about 80 getting to 90 by days end. We got into Georgetown and saw a bunch of bikes at the Hotel restaurant - (must be something good in there)... and we headed off down Wentworth Springs Rd. This has got to be one of the best roads to ride on in this entire area. Very smooth, curvacious... and yea very nice. We stopped in at Stumpy MEadows for a bathroom break. Then off to 11 Pines Rd. Dont blink cause you'll miss this one.... and then it was goat trailin' all the way up to French Meadows Reservoir. No road signs but there are markers leading you in the right direction towards Foresthill. Just keep on that path and you'll find your way to the "promised land".... The scenery everywhere up there changes and there is so much to see. But dont take you eye off the road too much, the potholes will BITE!!!!!! We stopped at French Meadows and had a peek, and then off to Mosquito Ridge.... wow what an awesome road and running it hard can be alot of fun. Or just cruising and taking in all the sites (there is much to see). Got into Foresthill for a nice little break and some well needed water stop. Chewed the fat with quite a few riders stopping in there and then were back on our way down Foresthill Road, another fine piece of asphalt in its own right. Hwy 80 for the trip home and an easy 170 mile day ride complete! See ya next time Syd!

Re: Mosquito Ridge - From Folsom and Back
Had a great time riding with you & Tinker. Sorry I'm such a slow poke but I ride my own ride & get there safely and have fun.
I can't believe we didn't get more pictures tho! I totally spaced it out. I even had Travelin Tigger with me to document some rides. Dave it still gets pretty hot especially coming back up from French Meadows to Foresthill. Be sure to pack along some snacks & water as there are a couple of nice picnic spots. Food at the Georgetown Hotel is good. We also saw a brand new Arlen Ness Vision there, along with the usual run amock of other bikes. |

Re: Mosquito Ridge - From Folsom and Back
Sydney, we left Santa Maria this Jan and now living in Auburn area but, finally getting truely settled in a home between Auburn and Colfax. So far what rides we rode are fun. The sites and smell are wonderfully. For us, it beats the Coast rides any day. The Coast is nice to visit but it's about sites and here it both site and smell. I would love to meet up with you and ride. Are you going on the Girly ride this year? I am really sad at I cant go again this. With a new job you cant go "hey, I need time off so I can ride my motorcycle." I will PM you my phone number.
