Edelweiss is very over priced/..... I know my way around Europe already.. I will rent the bike out of Munich- Edelweiss is a convenience for those who do not know and have no time to do on their own... that is what I think

And Brad, you're right about the prices, some of them are truly outrageous . All my tours have been well under the amount of some of these companies, now granted I'm stationed in Germany so it's a little easier for me. But for the average rider, Fly over, rent a bike, get a good map and a basic German language book, and it's eurotour central.

Re: European Alps Ride
Well, here goes my second try at loading pics. These are from the tour I did this past summer. Over a period of 7 days, I managed to tour parts of Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Lichstenstein, and Italy. I covered roughly 1300 miles or so, not sure of the exact distance, but what is important, I see I need to start taking more pictures and keeping a journal as I go
Hope you enjoy the few that I've posted.Quick picture of bike and gear. Heading towards Galtur Austria Guided tour by Lugi from Hotel Lugi One of the many passes in Austria. I think home is this way No, this isn't the road to Kansas

Re: European Alps Ride
Cool Pics, Anthony!
The pic of the twisties looks familiar. Is that somewhere near the Stelvio (Stilfser Joch)? I think I rode there in 2004. Unfortunately there was a Truck in front of me, and the road was too small to overtake. ![]() Good Luck with the weather next week! This could be the one.... |

The first twisty pick is when I went through the Hahntennjoch Pass going through Lichstenstein on my way to Austria. The last twisty pick could be Stilfer Joch, all I remember is trying to beat the storm

Not right off hand, but I hope the Tom Tom Rider I plan to purchase this year will do the job. Even still, I know I'll have a hard map with me, seeing the alps spread across the table when I'm planning the ride is just so inspirational to me Hold on, just found this on the net www.travelbygps.com/premium/swiss/alps.php maybe this will help you
