To Red Rock Canyon, NV.

Overwhelming posts... I am a people person... and as most I think needing a lot of space to grow... do not read... grow up!!!
I will keep you up to the travel when in San Francisco... very familiar with the town... my son lived there. You can check January 26th Archives for that.
I am on my way out right now... and will catch up individually with yous...
I liked this shot!

We have arrived at Red Rock Canyon and it is cold and windy. A shock to the system for the both of us, we were getting used to running around all day in a T Shirt! For the first time I had to put some rocks at the base of the Dish, even though anchored, 30mph winds with gusts of 50 just did not make me trust that anchor.
It was a fine road from Kingman... going through Las Vegas... hummm, what happened to that town?
We are settled and even saw a bit of Mt Hamilton... enjoy the pictures.

Be well...

I'll be setting off for thirty days of riding from Cleveland to the Bay Area to hook up with TheOtherTim, and would love to connect with you somewhere along the line for a bit of riding and story telling!

I, too will be mobile-blogging, and will be sure to drop a line here or there as I get twd the west end of things..

That sounds great... stay in touch... you always know where I am!
Funny as all the friends that I have left behind are happy with my Blog as they know where I am! For all the years I have worked I have always been gone 6 months per year, but never wrote about it or stayed much in touch!
Be well... Ara & Spirit

A bit of Red Rock Canyon, NV.

Will give you a shout... for sure!... I am getting more and more excited about the Bay Area...!

A bit of Red Rock Canyon, NV.

I could not stand it anymore... cold and snowing a bit, Spirit has his coat, I have my Gerbings... dark skies or not I wanted to at least ride the loop at Red Canyon. And we did just that...
Today, the sun is out again, the temps are still down, and a renewed energy seemed to have surfaced. Sunshine is definitely the meaning of life and the soul. An incredible energizer for me...
This was the loop yesterday... we have much hiking and rides planned here... we?... right!

Be well...

I can tell by your comments that you did indeed become one with the land during your meditation in vastness and timelessness.

But… “buts” I heard. How about retirement egg nest?… how about security? My bank account is full of memories… my friends are my dividends of this life I lead… my Rolex is the daily sunrise and the sunset… how much more secure can one be!
I felt some of the same emotions when I visited Snow Canyon. I sure wish I could have tossed the "schedule" I had on that ride and spent more time there.

Where's Snow Canyon you may ask?
Quote:
I followed Hwy 56 to Hwy 18 south to I-15 and St George, where it was a mere 93°. Just before arriving at St. George is a Utah State Park called Snow Canyon. I hadn't initially planned to stop there but after the HOT desert crossing through Nevada I was looking for a brief rest period area (hopefully with water and shade!).

I am soooo glad I chose to stop at this park. The rock formations and colors were a wonderful way to follow up the long, straight desolate state I had just crossed.
