Re: Blue mountains in Iceland
Hahaha the video on this page is hillarious.
Well i´ve personally not ridden the ring road yet, but my father did last may, and there was maybe 5 km of gravel road due to construction, But if u want to ride over the highlands, i´d suggest you´d come on a dual sport bike, a bimmer or somthing similar to the Bike Ewan McGregor rode on that ´´Long Way around´´. He must´ve been scared of Iceland because he did not come here and ride. I dont blame him there are Volcanos on every corner. J/K But my dad started his trip around the country on Friday and finished on Monday. There are many Hotels and Hostels on the road, i´d think on every 100km there is a place to stay. There are also various activitiesu can do on the way, such as a glacier trip on a snowmobile or a ATV. We also have trucks on 49´´ tires that go up to the top of the glaciers. Ofcourse there are more roads than the ring road, and if people want they can take longer trip then 3-5 days. Kiddi |

Well, i dont think the ferry is that expensive. It is 356 eu for a person and a bike. Beats taking a trip and get fat on the beach in Mallorca.
But the rental is expensive as ****, if it hasn´t gone broke by now. |

Re: Blue mountains in Iceland
Haha....
I dont blame u for not wanting to ride on the gravel... i think that kind of ridin needs ALOT of offroading experience. I certainly dont have that, my father has some from riding his Honda XL 350 way back in the 70´s (or least thats his exscuse from being a nutter ) But if u want to come here and ride, we can meet u in Seydisfjordur where the ferry docks in here in Iceland. That´ll be fun. We rode with a guy from the USA last year, that was riding a ZX-12 around the globe (his website http://5pairs.blogspot.com ) Nice guy, Matt from Denver, CO |
