Re: Garmin zumo 550 GPS A Riders Review

Well,
I'm glad you all like your Garmin 550's.
I just bought one myself and eagerly await its delivery.
By the way, after searching about online for best price,
I chose BuyDig.com for $685.00 dollars.
http://www2.buydig.com/shop/product....&sku=GRZUMO550
Some other places beat them by a few dollars, but seemed a tad questionable as far as reliability. So I went with BuyDig.com
Any body get a better price?

My one point of contention, was the 'sound input to the helmut' subject.
Will have to just play around with a few options, until something starts to work.
- I think the cheapest solution is to use a min-plug extension cable and wire it from the bars to the seat. You can plug it into your head set, when you sit on the bike. A three dollar fix.

- Some nice Blue tooth options comming out. You can get stereo sound by using a Stereo Blue-tooth dongle transmiter and head phone set. Lots of choices there. A 90 dollar fix.

- New helmut with built in head set. Best and priciest choice. Sure enough, my Nolan N-102 helmut has a modified version ready for electronics (but I apparently bought the wrong one... ) a 400 dollar fix.

I like the feature of the Bluetooth. All those wires drive me nuts. I'm seriously thinking about getting one. If it was Sam Elliott telling me where to go.....Oh Yeah!

Have you guys seen the ZUMO FORUM? Lot's of info there.

Sydney! That is a wonderful forum!! From the tone of the first couple of pages I've read they like a similar tone to Pashnit. Lots of information over there. I'll be busy quite a while!

Who's over there already?? I'm Jester there as well.

I've been Scarman over there for a while now. Don't know why I didn't think to post the link over here. Thanks Sydney.
