So I bought a stand-up Motorcycle Trailer !!

Kevin asked about the trailer so mine as well post that here. I wanted to buy a motorcycle trailer, but it needs to be a stand-up one since have no room to store outside. Everyone is familiar with the Kendon, but it's about $2K. Did find a used one for around $1100, but other side of the country.

Quickie google search and came up with these guys: http://www.sportutilitytrailers.com/ out of Las Vegas.

Their trailer is basically a modular kit you have to put together and comes UPS in a whole bunch of boxes. Lots of options and variations. So ordered this one:

Just a single rail trailer. Nice thing is it folds up in the middle, and than flips up and stands on end. Long as you're on concrete in the garage works great, and just roll it into a corner. It did take me about 6 hours to put it together (my 2 yr old helped ). The list is $727 & with a couple accessories plus the shipping (expensive), came to a lil shy of $900.

The Condor Wheel Chock in the pic my bro & I picked up at the Motorcycle Show back in December. Several companies make these, this one is pretty heavy duty, all aluminum, and runs $235. They advertise in all the major magazines. http://www.condor-lift.com/they_works.htm#ps
I have to admit that before I got this, we were using a block of firewood in the back of his pickup as the front wheel chock. It's nice because you just roll the bike onto the stand, it flips forward and locks the front wheel. No need to hold bike up.

I like it. I was thinking of setting up my snowmobile trailer for 2 or 3 bike.
Aluminum with a wood floor. Got luckey and found it on Ebay within 40 miles from my house and new. Also was about 900 after tax a title.

Thanks for the info, Tim! Been looking for a trailer also, had pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I would have to pay for a Kendon. I actually like these better, look wise.

Hey Tim, two things. One, your posts are too wide for my screen...what do I do? Two, grease your wheel bearings, and while you have them out, write down the numbers (bearing numbers) as some of the cheaper/off-shore trailers do not use industry standard bearings.

Dave - thanks for the tip on the wheel bearings.

As for the pic- You are likely using an 800 pixel wide screen setting which is pretty narrow in internet land as websites slowly get a wee bit wider. That pic is 900 pixels wide suited for an average of 1024 or 1200 pixel wide screen setting which is most common (13% of web user are still using the narrow 800 pixel wide screen) Goto windows > settings > control panel > display ('appearance' on Vista) and you can change your screen setting if desired.

Peter - as Dale mentioned, this is another big new project of the Pashnit website in that I've begun working with some dealers to provide bikes for road test articles. This year I'll be working with BMW, Harley & Hyosung and road testing various bikes and working on long-winded articles about them. Using the bikes to lead the Pashnit Tours and also give the tour participants a chance to check out the new bikes first hand.

The good folks at CycleSpecialties.com have provided this bike. In 3 weeks will be road testing the new Harley Davidson Ultra Classic.

Example of this is here, several months back, road tested the new Buell Ulysses XB12X setting off on a 1600 mile ride in a couple days. Friction Zone published the article, and then I also worked on a 10,000 word version which you can read here. Lot of work, but great fun!

Tim, did I read right. You are going to rassel an ultra behemoth over Fs1? Tho it's probably a better choise then the Hyosung. If you break down up here our locals won't even know how to spell it, let alone fix it.
