If you have never ridden the California Big Sur Coastline, there are pull-outs everywhere. And if I had the time, I could stop at every single one of them. Different scene, different angle, different perspective of the coast each time. Beautiful.




I recently got a call from the photo editor of a financial magazine in Munich, Germany. Their main request was some motorcycle photography of the Big Sur Coastline, and especially the Bixby Bridge. Here you go guys!

Think 'Then Came Bronson' for you old timers.

If you are new to this website and may have not heard about this one, this little detour - Nacimiento Rd, is a photographers delight. Each time I come here, have to try something a bit different.



Nacimiento Rd is a bit of a goat trail that cuts up and over the coast range, but the climb up offers up some stunning views!

The climb looks like this, okay pavement, and lots of blind corners.




But the view northward along the California Pacific Coastline looks like this.

Which provides a good backdrop for me to try and get some decent shots of the new K1200S.

If you've read any of my photography tips interspersed in these long photo-threads from the tours, may have got the advice to shoot your motorcycle at a couple different angles when you have a good background. You'll always have a favorite.



If you catch the subtle difference- I'm placing the road in the background at different positions in the shots. Bike is the same, but changes the feel a bit. I actually shot about 5-6 of this position, but these two were the best.

The top one purposely make the background blurry- more emphasis on the bike, the second one blends it all together, not blurry.

Mike & Marie are from Vermont and flew in for this tour. And while we were taking these photos, they were expecting another 2 feet of snow at their home.

Mike & Marie- I like this pic. The smiles on their faces are quite the insight that the snow at their home is the furthest thing from their mind!
