Wow Keith, that is just so cool on so many levels! You can still enjoy the company of your bride on rides, that just shines!

When the pics were smaller the wheels to your love's chair (attached to the back of the side car) looked like a jet intake. Now that would make for a hot rig.

That is awesome! Did you design and build the lift mechanism for getting her in and out yourself?

Re: Pashnit for the sidecar - Merlin Triumph Trophy 1200- wheelchair equipped

Thanks to Pashnit's sidecar page I found the company(Merlin) who would help me, everyone of their sidecars are unique. It took several months getting the angles right for swinging Anne in and the pole that holds the hoist had to be lengthend.

There are strict rules on who can build disable vehicles in this country, so once my design was approved, I had to get the professionals in.
The Hoist is converted from a car hoist,(Autochair.co.uk) milford personal hoist. Mmmm, Hard to describe, it fits in the car door space (suppose you'd say door well frame) for lifting people into the chair seat, then removed and stowed away.

I used a Motorcycle company about 200 miles away (Woodsmotorcycles) who I trust, they provided the bike and did all the goverment red tape paperwork.
We have Road Taxation and VAT road tax is a paper disc to prove the vehicle is road worthy and must be displayed on the vehicle at all times it's an annual tax. VAT is your equivalant of purchase tax and runs at around 12% of purchase price.

Disabled vehicles are exempt from both, which is why the professionals get involved.

Hope this answers some of your questions

Re: Pashnit for the sidecar - Merlin Triumph Trophy 1200- wheelchair equipped

www.autochair.co.uk

For bigger and better pictures of the sidecar hoist, bear with me this isn't quick.
When you get on the home page click on (aluminium milford personal lift), scroll down the page to options, click on (vehicle of your choise)
Here is a multiple choise page. 1st click on arrow click on milford personal lift.
2ndclick on arrow scroll down to sidecar.
3rd scroll down click on search for information
This page brings up details of sidecar on right side is the number 13 click on arrow next to it.
Next page will bring up a list of pictures, click away
