Tim......What a great tale of a Ninja 250 and the fun that can be had on a small 250cc bike. I am sure that everyone who reads your articles, like the proper way to take a photo and all the rest are as grateful as I am. I do hope this year to take a ride on some of your California roads. Here in Washington state, as everybody knows it rains 10 months and our summers are July and August. Keep safe and keep posting.

My SO just bought an '09 Ninja 250 with 400 miles on the clock. This article helped her make the decision to "go down" to a 250. She is used to riding a Guzzi 750 and had reservations that the ninja could keep up.
We went riding yesterday and that ninja keeps up just fine! |

I just reread this thread again, as others have said it's just one of those timeless classics. A friend of mine is looking to get back into motorcycling after a many year hiatus (on street, she rides dirt also and no hiatus there); and partly thanks to the thorough honesty and encouragement from this thread, it looks like she's about to buy a 2010 Ninja 250.
 With her on that bike and me on my 2008 Concours14, it's sure shaping up to be a FUN summer.  Thanks for your help!!
